This is simply amazing! As a beginner, I found this book very instructional. I learned how to do many types of patterns and stitches. The designs are amazing and beautiful. I can't believe being a woman is a tough job in the world and while I am struggling doing my crochet, this thing is just their hobby. I am proud of those people. Great book.

A detailed and illustrated guide to crochet that is great for people like me who've lost the knack. When I was a kid I was shown some of these stitches and could make a few things. The other day a friend invited me to join them on a project and I was LOST. Grab kindle, look for book, thank you Kitty Moore! The illustrations were very helpful, the advices allowed me to keep things more uniform. No, I wasn't crocheting with the best of them. But I did pretty good and it was very relaxing. There are basic projects in this book for you to tackle after you get the basics down.

Never crochet'd before, but since it was free I thought I'd give it a go. The book does a gret job of breaking down what crochet is, and how newbs like me can get started. I don't know how far I'll take it, but it feels good to learn a new skill and challenge myself.

This book is one of the best I read on this topic- you will like it. Everything explained very clear with good pictures, that you can easily to follow the directions and see illustrations to it. Very good content, i liked the patterns, will recommend both for beginners and experienced ones.

Big time Cussler fan. (34th read). This one easily makes the top 5 so far. Good plot line with world-wide water piracy the theme and the NUMA team as the stopper as you would expect. Boat race segment was a bit of a stretch for belief, but was minor in comparison to the strong characters and great adventure woven into the rest of the tale. A tale that involved Bio-medicine exploitation, a long disappeared scientist discovered to be a living white goddess jungle queen and sinister corporate conspirators joining a 'Nordic' giantess in attempted world subjugation as sub-themes . Very enjoyable!

HOT TAMALE CLIVE you sure got a winner with this here Masterizzazione. From kidnapping and 10 years with a White godess amogst the wild canibiles to a majestic Norshman war ship then a Flying wing buried in an Alascan ice Cave with a 50 year Protcol and a tunnel under the wood shower. And finally arriving on old padallboat steamer and the death of a 7 foot tall evil bitch and the unfortunate death of the HERO of this book whom I will not reveal for future readers.HA HA.

This was a very good book. The setting and object of the criminal enterprise was approached by vastly different pieces of the completed puzzle. I wondered when I would find the solution as each adventure occurred.Clive Cussler is an unusual author and always presents a good book. This book would be a great movie if the story retained its original version in the movie script.

Assignment series. Yet in both of first two series books we never really understand Kurt Austin's motivation except that it's the right thing to do. I think there's needs to be a more in depth character development of both Kurt and Joe. I enjoyed the book , yet I look forward to learning as much about Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala, as Dirk Pitt and Al Giordano in other Clive Cussler novels.

Kurt and Hi are two of my favorite characters. They have been well developed over the life of the NUMA series, but is always fun to fill in New biography information. I thought I could feel water during the yacht race. The color and humidity of the jungle were palpable. It was a farfetched plot but only too believable in today's world. On to the next Cussler collaboration.

This is another wonderful book by Clive Cussler. I have read all his books. There is great detail, its fast moving where it needs to be and the story line is so very real like that its very believable, something that could be happening today. If you read one of his books, you'll get hooked and have to read them all !!!!! Susan K

Thoughout his career, Clive Cussler has given us villains mostly in the Dr. No or Goldfinger mode--mercantile tycoon types who pull some sort of mega-holdup that endangers the world. And this continues, despite the success of efforts like "The X Files", which articulate the current trendy view that Government--an Orwellian "Big Brother"--is the Antichrist. Corporate America is never--repeat--NEVER the bad guy (whatta you, some kinda Red?) except for Bill Gates--he's fair game because he's a nerd. But Cussler still sticks to his Superbad Guys, and as such, makes it clear that he still loves his country. That the weenies who gave us "The X Files" still do is not so clear. In this book, we have a Nordic Valkyrie who's planning up to exploit the growing water shortage and setting up an aqua-OPEC to gouge the thirsty. If you can afford it, bottoms up. If not, you die of thirst. What delicious evil in an age when the "proper term" for evil people is "dysfunctional"! In this time of ambiguities and moral and philosphical relativism, I LOVE an author who calls a spade a spade! To paraphrase 1960s country/ comic singer Larry Verne; "please Mr. Cussler...don'tcha ever go!"

If you have read any of Cussler's books you know your in for a wild and adventures ride. His books are suspenseful and Heart felt. Blue Gold has you on the edge of your seat and keeps you up all night. Read just one of his books and you'll be hooked forever waiting for his next new story to be published. Thanks for the Journey

Was okie i guess it is good for background and information somewhat, but it says in the title that it is a step by step guide on how to make jewelry, but it is very vague

Jewelry making is something that I've always marveled at and have always wanted to do. So, after reading through the pages of this book, with my ereader in hand, I went to purchase the items I needed to get started.With this book as a reference, I've made a couple of simple pieces so far and hope to get better with practice.I'm hoping that this author comes out with other books showing how to make specific pieces of jewelry.

Great place to start to learn how to make my own jewelry. I think this will get me started on a new hobby

She really highlight's all, the points of jewelry making. She explains everything quite well highly recommend the book it was everything I was looking for.

This book on jewelry making is a well-organized, comprehensive guide to jewelry making. After first discussing the reasons people want to make their own jewelry, Janet Evans goes on to relay the fact that you do not need any experience whatsoever to get started. She details the supplies needed, the costs associated with jewelry-making, and how to care for the jewelry after it is made. In addition to all of this, she talks about the tools of the trade, the work area, the weights and measurements and, finally, discusses how to craft the various types of jewelry.If you have any interest in this hobby or want to start a jewelry-making business. this book will provide you with all of the information you need to do so.

As I love crafts I was looking forward to reading this book. I just wanted to learn how to do a few simple projects and thought this book will be a perfect solution as the title says - step by step.Well, I was completely wrong.The book is full of very vague and general information, there is not a single project, and it is not useful at all.It is not useful to beginners like me, because there is no simple project that you can follow. It is not useful to persons who would like to start making jewelry as a way to earn some money because there are no specific information whatsoever.All the information is so vague and even if you know nothing about jewelry you could probably figure it out. I will give you just one example - In Chapter 8 - Best Place to Find Materials to Make Jewelry the author mentions eBay. Yeah, you would never have guessed, right? And then in the same chapter I will quote a paragraph:"What Kind of Materials Do you Need?Because one of the great things about eBay is that if you do not necessarily know what type of jewelry that you want to create, then you can browse through the many materials available on the website. Looking at the different materials available is a great way to get ideas for what type of jewelry you would like to create."Really? And the author calls this what is in her book secrets?!At the end of the book "if you want to learn more secrets" there is a pitch directing you to a website with just one sales page asking you to subscribe to a newsletter...I got really tired at that point. What is a purpose of a beginners book if not to show them something and teach them? But certainly not that kind of secrets like - search on eBay and buy wholesale. The only purpose of this book seems to be to sell more of the author's books. By the way, I checked the other books by the same author here on Amazon, and to be honest they seem to be more specific, but after the experience with this book there is no way I will buy them.I am only glad I found the book during its free promotional period. So I only wasted my time. But I suggest - don't waste yours. At least click on the product photo and read inside, something I didn't do. And see yourself what kind of info is available in this book.

"Dark Agenda" is an excellent book - as are many of his books.To be anti-Christian is no different than being anti-Semitic. As a Jew I know that Christianity as a worldview received most of its values from ours. It is the closest world religion to Judaism. Attacks on Christians and their values is an attack on Judaism as well and many values which we hold as true.This book explains in detail how the Left is attacking Christians and their values. Regardless of how one feels about Christianity, the concept of demonizing a group based on their religion is unacceptable. We Jews were singled out for hate in Germany which ultimately led to the Holocaust. This kind of hate should never happen again for any group.Learn about the real reason the Left attacks Christians. It is not because they understand Christianity (they don't) and choose not to be believers. The true reason is much more nefarious as Horowitz reveals.

Dark Agenda is only a voice only DVD. It has 12 articles which have around 45 min. recording time (total of 4 hrs) listening and very interesting to set back and listen. Lots of details.

As I read this book I was struck by the fact that the author does not seem fully rational. For example, he claims that President Reagan's nominee for the Supreme Court, Judge Robert Bork, in 1987 was defeated by a "vicious" attack on his character and judgement by Senator Ted Kennedy. I remember the Saturday Night Massacre in October of 1973. When President Richard Nixon ordered Attorney General Elliot Richardson to fire independent special prosecutor Archibald Cox; Richardson refused and resigned. Nixon then ordered Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus to fire Cox; Ruckelshaus refused, and also resigned. Nixon then ordered the third-most-senior official at the Justice Department, Solicitor General Robert Bork, to fire Cox. And Bork did it. I always considered that to show a fatal flaw in Bork's judgement. On page 107 of the book is a bold misstatement of fact when writing about the public attitudes toward interracial marriage. He writes that in 1958 only 4 % of whites approved of interracial marriages but by 2013 the approval rate had jumped to 87%. He continues, "There was no Supreme Court decision that declared interracial marriage to be a constitutional right." He is ignoring the decision of Loving v. Virginia, 388 U.S. 1, on June 12, 1967 the U.S. Supreme Court struck down all state laws banning interracial marriage as violations of the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Yes! A great read on my Kindle when on the plane. I am also trying to read his more involved book about Genesis and Big Bang. I highly recommend this, though, because it's more to the point and explained in layman's terms (when someone gets too deep into physics, my brain spins like a wacked-out sister particle). I always knew God is the inventor of the Universe so Genesis and the truth that scientists are uncovering should not be at odds, and in fact, the opposite. I am sad when many scientists revile God's hand in the Universe and many religious people revile scientists hand in showing the most amazing facts to us (my mother devoted her life to helping eagles get off the endangered list, so I can't help but feel like a "child in the middle" during these damn stupid arguments of theology which are, in the end, moot and time-wasting). They bolster each other and are not at odds, unless pride and ego get in the way. Science can be a religion and religion can be "a science," but that don't save no one, no how.

Great thinker. More people should read his works...I think I have read them all, and was also lucky to hear him speak at the 92nd st. Y in NYC. Those who do not believe the Biblical account, and claim they believe only science...as well as those who believe the Bible, and negate science...WELL THIS IS THE BOOK FOR ALL OF YOU. To deny either, means you are ill informed and Gerald Schroeder is the man to turn to.

I need to know! I believe in God and the Bible, but my natural curiosity about science and the natural world seems to clash. Thanks to Gerald Schroeder I can now reconcile my intelligence with my faith. Billions of years old universe and six day creation explained! !

I bought the printed version from Levitt. A good summary of Schroeder's book 'The Science of God' which I have also read. I have read almost all of Schroeder's books which are all worthwhile and being from a Hebrew scholar and nuclear physicist they provide a perspective not found elsewhere. Many videos are also on YouTube.

Everyone who struggles with the out dated, inaccurate science of Darwinian Evolution should read this book. True science and the Bible are not actually in conflict. It is only when bias, ignorance or corruption exist on either side that the conflict emerges.

Full of memories for those whose driving experience predates Google Maps; startup rags-to-riches drama for would-be entrepreneurs; and a history of what is arguably Google's most successful product line for everyone who uses it, Kilday's book proves to be an enjoyable read. Some of the names are familiar, but many will be new to the reader in this insider account of what it was like to be a startup, purchased by Google, on the ground floor of what was cutting edge technology that became so completely ubiquitous that it arguably changed the world.

Probably the best non-fiction book I have ever read. Its a great combination of the ups and downs of life in a startup, as well as an easily understood overview of the technology - how they got where they are today and where it might be going in the future. It's an easy, fun read and you actually get to learn something too - neat! It's just a really good book

The quality is generally good, except for that stapling defect. The first ten pages nearly fall off. I would have returned this one if I am not so eager to read it.

This book was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad he did. It colorfully tells the Google Maps story from the early tough, cash strapped, pre-Google startup days until today. The post Google acquisition phase shows what desire with unlimited funding can accomplish. I highly recommend this book.

Very entralling tale of the founding of Google Earth and Google Maps. Itâ€™s not often I find a non-fiction book that is such a page turner. Plus the insight into the glory days of early Google is great.

About the Author

Peter Steinhauer is an award-winning photographer whose work has been published in the monographs, Vietnam: Portraits and Landscapes (2002) and Enduring Spirit of Vietnam (2007; foreword by Michael Kenna), named Best Photography Book of the Year by PDN. Represented by leading international galleries, his work is held in museums and in private, corporate and embassy collections. Born in Boulder, CO, Steinhauer lived in Asia for 20 years. He currently resides in San Francisco, CA.Linda Benedict-Jones is an independent curator based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2015, she retired from her role as the first Curator of Photography at Carnegie Museum of Art. Prior to this, she was Executive Director of Silver Eye Center for Photography. She has also served as Curator of Education at The Frick Pittsburgh and she taught courses in the history of photography at Carnegie Mellon University for 18 years, from 1999 to 2017. Before moving to Pittsburgh in 1993, Benedict-Jones was Curator of The Polaroid Collection and director of Polaroid’s Clarence Kennedy Gallery in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
