Great Book

Aconcagua is one of the more accessible of the 7,000 metre peaks of the world. As such, it attracts a large number of trekkers as well as climbers each year. Some of them also die on the mountain in bad years.While most novice climbers will probably go with one of the recognised climbing companies from Mendoza, a guide such as this excellent volume is an essential requirement in understanding and planning a climb of Aconcagua.

Use it as a first read on aconcagua, but not as a specific guidebook. It's too general, but it's a good first read, or a good book to give you a more general idea of your options when planning an ascent in this fun mountain.

Helped out a lot on my solo-hike/climb. Great reference book, but a little outdated. Use online resources to verify information.

This book is a good intro to Aconcagua (history, geography, etc), it helps plan a trip with good tips on preparation and local arrangements. However, it does not spend enough time describing the trails and the difficulties of each route. Even the normal route, the most popular one, is not described in depth.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Secor's guide. I read it before climbing Aconcagua and when I was on the mountain I felt as if I had already been there because of the accurate description in the book. The book has also good general advice on equipment, guides, weather, and acclimatization. Definitely a good companion for a wonderful adventure.

I bought a similar map when I went to Iceland. They are quite durable, being both water and tear resistant. Excellent detail, contours are very useful in landform identification. I would not hesitate to buy any NG map of similar construction or material.

I haven't used this map yet but I love how durable it is. The quality and the detail are really great!

I took this with me when I traveled to Nepal. It was handy to have.

Nice quality, good details. Served its purpose as a GENERAL map of Nepal. If you intend to do any trekking however, you will need to purchase more specific maps for the particular areas where you will be trekking. BUT buy those maps when you get to Nepal. Good quality maps at cheap prices are found everywhere in Nepal.

The scale is a bit off, doesn't easily show entire country in one image

These are great maps. I can't recommend them highly enough. Taking one to Nepal later this year and leaving the other at home so my wife can figure out where I will be each day. Very sturdy map with good details.

The city inset for Kathmandu does not have lat/long coordinates like the rest of the map. I like plotting where I have been from my gps.

Gives a good overview of the law and the cases are very helpful in further understanding it. However, there is no reason why this should be $90 used. I only bought this as my class required it, there are much cheaper and even free material out there that is superior to this book.

I had to take Business Law for College and this was my text book. I was very impressed with the writing in the book, including the case studies. I really didn't know what to expect from this class and this textbook but they book exceeded my expectations. This is one textbook that I will be keeping instead of turning it back in.

This book is very well written and is quite straightforward, and I enjoyed reading about the real life business cases in this book. I learned a lot about business law and how it works in general and it is better than the business law book I used back at NC State during the spring of 2005. This one has more real life examples and each chapter has a real life case.I highly recommend this book for students majoring in accounting. Business Law isn't my favorite subject, but this book definitely made it more fun! Thanks! :)

I am renting this from Amazon and I'm so glad I did. The book is a hard cover and is what I needed for by business law class. I have enjoyed the reading so far

This textbook is a rental and I think it is a brand new book. Just a comment that it arrived with the corners damaged a little. It does not affect the textbook and I will use it this semester, I will just be careful with it so the damage does not increase. It is hardcover and such a heavy book that I think it occurred during shipping. Otherwise, no issues.

I bought this as a loose leaf edition and I am very pleased with it. My professor prefers Mr. Cheeseman's books. She states that she can still recommend some of the older versions for classes as well. The book is well written and presented so that students can easily learn from it.

Almost like a review of my entire law school curriculum in one text book, with one difference - it has Pictures, and Clear Headings, and other Learning Aids - those dry case books in law school did not have any of that. I highly recommend this book. PS - I bought a used copy, one edition older than current, for about $20. What a steal. The law has not changed that much in 2 years.

I really enjoy readnig from this book, which can't be said for all the books I read for class. This books presents information in an easy reading manner and is full of many pertinent court cases. It starts by addressing the reasons colonists wanted to be free from the British, and how the tension between England and the colonists mounted. Next we see Thomas Jefferson writing the Declaration of Independence, followed by spreading the news about the Declaration of Independence, and then the victory of the Americans over the British. All of this is told by three time Newberry Honor Winner Alice Dalgliesh, a seasoned storyteller with a rich voice and a keen eye for the elements of history that must be told if the story is to impart the awe of the founding of a nation.Dalgliesh also adds scenes that might have happened. For example a rider with the Declaration of Independence in his saddle bag, stops to talk with a farmer of German ancestry about the Declaration. The farmer continues thinking about what it means to live in a free country as the rider moves on through the countryside.The major figures of independence and the revolution have a place in the story: Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington. There's a nice anecdote about a very young Andrew Jackson reading the Declaration of Independence to his neighbors."The Fourth of July Story" was originally published two years before I was born. The illustrations look like the illustrations in many of the picture books, novels and textbooks I grew up with. They bring a simple view of the revolutionary time alive. The artist is not trying hard for reality. The last picture in the book makes this particularly clear. At the end of the war, Washington is reviewing his troops. Almost all the troops are wearing uniforms that look spotless. My understanding is that soldiers were lucky to have any part of their uniforms left after the war."The Fourth of July Story" is great choice for reading on the 4th of July, or anytime the subject of the American Revolution comes up with young children.

Wonderful story beautifully written and illustrated. My 2yo loves this book. Great introduction to July 4 and American history. The story of America has not been changed or slanted toward any particular ideals or political interests. It is just the story told as it happened!! Delightful book for any age!!

James Waslaski's work is amazing! It's made such a difference in my practice. I'm able to combine different modalities seamlessly by using his protocol and my work has been more effective with chronic pain relief. My clients also appreciate the fact that I don't have to always do deep tissue-omg-it-bloody-hurts massage. Now I rarely do deep tissue and my clients and hands are far happier. This book isn't the easiest to absorb for new therapists but if you have a strong grasp of anatomy & physiology, then this is the perfect textbook for advanced level therapists.

As a massage therapist I hear from others how difficult it is treating certain conditions i.e. frozen shoulder, patella tracking, shoulder impingement, etc. etc.. James gives clear, concise, methods that have been proven to work time and time again. Since purchasing this book and following his directions exactly as they are laid out I have never had a client come in who I have not been able to resolve their issues in a single session. Every massage school should be using this book in the classroom.

Have his CDs and this book! Took my massage techniques from OK to WOW!!! James Waslaski is a fantastic instructor, you will not be disappointed with this book!

Excellent book, good companion to his video series

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist here in Illinois. I mean I am really serious with what I'm doing and love, love, love this profession that I want to be well knowledgeable in every aspect of it. I bought a lot of DVDs and books about massage and different modalities. Frankly speaking I prefer watching DVDs than reading a book because is am a visual learner, but this book is exceptional I love so much what it is in this book, I love the author for how he shared his knowledge and I love how he explained clearly everything. The best book about massage ever!!!!!!!. I've learned a lot from this book. The best and well taken cared of from my library, crazy but you know how I showed how important this book to me I bought a thick cover and covered this book carefully, and the only book that I sleep with. Hahahaha, I mean I always read this book before I go to bed. I recommend this book to everyone out there in this profession. That's all I can say.
