Growing up in a gold mining family in a gold mining community, the history of the early prospectors was important. Every time we drove to town to get supplies, we drove past the monument to Felix Pedro who discovered gold near the modern city of Fairbanks, Alaska. I wanted to honor the man who inspired so many and made my lifestyle possible. I also wanted to pass on the importance of the dream of making your own fortune in life and the hard work it takes to attain it.
